Kids on the Run 2022 ($)

Race Overview:

Kids on The Run and Kids Marathon* are non-competitive running events for children and young people age 17 and younger.  Participants can choose from these four distances based on their age and ability: The 2022 event will feature Half-Mile, One-Mile and 2K Kids Marathon events.  *** IMPORTANT NOTICE *** The 2022 event will be for ages 5 & over ONLY.  The Toddler Trot is canceled.

All events take place on the paved trails of Bohrer Park in the City of Gaithersburg. Participants do not run on roads. There is a ‘rabbit’ runner who will lead the participants in each event. There is also a ‘sweeper’ who follows behind for each event insuring everyone makes it back to the finish line. There are multiple opportunities to see and cheer for the youth runners!

Young Runs:  MCRRC is excited to bring back youth running events in 2022.  Please know that our youth races will follow COVID protocols as required by state and local health authorities at the time of the event, but will otherwise look much like “regular kids’ runs.”  This means you can generally expect groups of kids bunched up at the start, laughing, cheering, maybe a couple trips and falls, probably some parents jockeying for good camera angles, and maybe a treat at the end.  With COVID still circulating in the community, we understand not everyone will be comfortable in this environment but hope to see those of you who are on race day! Please note that by participating in this event, parents & guardians accept full responsibility for their minor’s participation.
