About the Race
MCRRC sponsors this popular low-key, but high quality, half marathon run through the rural rolling country side of upper Montgomery County beginning and ending at Rileys Lock on the C&O Canal (course map). This race is scheduled specifically for those who are training for a Fall Marathon to test their level of fitness. As part of the MCRRC Championship Series, this is a low-key race; there will be no commemorative t-shirts or awards.
MCRRC Members register on race day at no charge.
Registration for non-members is $10 and online registration is strongly encouraged due to the crowd size (over 500 runners last year). Register online through July 26.
Race day registration begins at 5:30am.
Note: All runners must wear special Riley's Rumble bibs with tear off tags; regular club member bibs will not be used.
From I-495, take the River Road west exit. Continue several miles until River Road turns left at Seneca Road (there is a stop sign). Turn left, then proceed a few hundred yards until Rileys Lock Road on your left (13015 Rileys Lock Road - Google Maps, MapQuest).
Please arrive at the race at least an hour before the start; allow for 45 minutes of driving from the I-270/I-495 interchange.
